This story of Hunter and Gia was great. Gia is the daughter of a mob boss who has come back to the Jersey shore to work. She uses her mother's maiden name, hoping no one will know who she is. Her boss and his wife are her friends. Hunter has also returned from the west coast. He is her boss's brother. Gia and he have a budding friendship. She secretly has a crush on him but does not act on it because he had connected with his high school girlfriend. Every one tells him that she is not good for him and that he really feels more for Gia than he will admit. Things change rapidly when a news report shows Gia's father being arrested. The picture is of him and a much younger Gia. She is having breakfast with Hunter, who recognize her instanly. How will this effect their personal and business relationship? Things start to happen on the job that can not be explained. Her family is frantically trying to reach her. This wonderful story takes you into the world of the Italian mob. Two families are at odds because Gia is working in a town run by another mob boss. There are unexpected twist, murder, priest who fathered children, cheating girlfriends, intrigue drama, new beginnings, babies and some of the best sex scenes ever. Will Gia and Hunter find love or will the mob keep them apart? I received this ARC copy with the promise of a honest review. This is a must read.
Sometimes in order to start new we need to lay our secrets to rest. And that is where Gia went wrong, she hand too many big secrets to just think changing her name and address it would be ok... I was given this book in exchange for an honest review and like I said this book will definitely keep you on your toes in where something is on the verge of being reviled. The story is mainly about how Gia and Hunter came to finally be together. Gia is a big beautiful woman that has had stuff happen that sometimes leaving the situation is the best solution...or is? She wanted a new beginning therefore she made the decision to move to Ocean Crest but she didn't want to bring baggage so she also changed her name. But things are really never hidden..everything has a way of coming to light. Good or bad....
Hunter is part of her past but he shaking up her life in the present. He doesn't know who she is but he will.. He has his own demons to slave especially his on and off again girlfriend..she is a devil and everyone doesn't like her. They all know he is sooooooo much better than she is.. Now Gia is in my opinion his missing piece...and I am not the only believer there.. Will he listen to his heart and leave her and find the peace he needs with Gia? What tragedy will hit? And will they separate Gia and Hunter more? I wish I could explain more but then I would be telling the story. Not because it's so small or uncaptivating , but because each part fits so beautifully that it's just flows...
This book was ok for me. I felt like it didn't really flow smoothly, too many thing forced in and not enough steady character development.
Negative side - The hero was kind of all over the place personality wise, not really sure what he wanted. One minute he's thinking about sleeping with his girlfriend (whom he thinks he should marry), then the next he is kissing the heroine. After he decides that night he sleeps with the heroine and literally runs out the next morning (within hours after they slept together) to help the ex's family after a huge storm...I mean right when he got up, he got dressed and went over....pretty sure that could wait for a bit....if he was such a "thinker", he would figured that out. So, from his point of view....it still felt like her giving it. I think it could have been better with more developed characters.
Positive side - I did really like the heroine and the scene where she takes up for herself against the Barbie wanna be bully...loved reading that, we need more heroines like that. The intimate scenes were pretty good too.
I really wanted to enjoy this book, I was excited to get started. That excitement didn't last long. This book was all over the place, to many things were happening and I couldn't keep up. I don't think it was the best laid out plan for two authors to write this book. You got the feeling that two different stories were taking place within the same story with the same characters. I felt everything was over the top, Hunter and Gia had no chemistry what so ever. Hunter all of a sudden has feelings for Gia. He is thinking about his girlfriend one minute and the next Gia is his main focus. The whole mobster family and Priest for your dad, I was done after that. I wasn't going to suffer through that book anymore. The writing was forced to complete a story.

Are you ready for family drama? This is your book. Lots of laughs and love only the Italians can deliver.
I liked that the heroine was a curvy girl and the romance and over all story was good but there were times when the story did not flow easy. The biggest issue was some of the mafia aspects. Things that dealt with them just did not add up all the time int he story, however, if you over look that the books was a good read and delivered sexiness and a HEA.
